members of the 2.7 million American grandparents raising their grandchildren. This population includes one million grandmothers raising grandchildren on less than $20,000 per year. We have created Lazlo's Heart as a platform to raise awareness to the issues grandparents face keeping their little ones from the foster system as well as provide tools that help them cross the epiphany bridge from pain to purpose.

Journaling is a practice that can have many positive effects on your life. Here are the top five benefits of journaling:
- Journaling can help you process your emotions and cope with stress. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you understand them better and release any negative emotions. Journaling can also help you identify and challenge any irrational beliefs or cognitive distortions that may be affecting your mood.
- Journaling can boost your creativity and productivity. Writing regularly can stimulate your imagination and spark new ideas. Journaling can also help you organize your thoughts and plan your goals. By keeping track of your progress and achievements, you can motivate yourself to keep going and overcome any obstacles.
- Journaling can improve your memory and learning. Writing things down can help you remember them better and reinforce your learning. Journaling can also help you review and reflect on what you have learned and apply it to your life. Journaling can also enhance your critical thinking and problem-solving skills by helping you analyze and evaluate information.
- Journaling can strengthen your self-awareness and self-esteem. Writing about yourself can help you discover more about who you are, what you value, and what you want. Journaling can also help you appreciate your strengths and achievements and acknowledge your areas of improvement. By expressing yourself authentically, you can develop a positive self-image and confidence.
- Journaling can foster your personal growth and development. Writing about your experiences, challenges, and aspirations can help you learn from them and grow as a person. Raising a grandchild disrupts the grandparent relationship. I have traveled the 7 stages of acceptance associated with the situation that brought our 26-month old grandson into our household. The stages brought us over the epiphany bridge from pain to purpose. We are all in different places crossing the bridge. My hope is that we will help those that follow find their inner healing more quickly. Caregivers play a vital role in helping children cope with the emotional pain caused by the broken connection to their parents.
Daily writing prompts will be provided and then an opportunity to discuss with a community of grandparents seeking connections with others sowing seeds out of season.
We are planning events through 2024 that will raise awareness of the issues. Check back to see when you can participate in a seminar, conference or group activity.

We have compiled different collections of resources that focus on helping with building community connections.
